Hiya guys,
Well i dont really know where to start. My grandad was a professional wedding photographer all those years ago and has kinda brought me up using pro cameras all my life. Im now 16 and he has just recently bought us a Nikon D5O, and an extra 70-300 lens. I know quite a bit and want to get into studio photography/model photography, and i wondedred some of the basic kit i would need - ie - backdrop, flash units (whether to use soft or hard), diffuser screens e.t.c....i could probably get a budget of £200 ish and wondered what sort of gear i could get for that price. I do not have the room in my house to have a room dedicated as a studio, so it would need to be portable.
Cheers
Dan

Depends what kind of photography you are wanting to do. As far as lights are concerned, you can pick up 2nd hand lights on e-bay for a lot less than new price. Probably the cheapest out there are Portaflash. You can get single heads for 30-50 quid. These arn't the most powerful of lights, but a couple will provide more than acceptable lighting in most studio sized rooms. You can always sell them on once you start to make money...

As far as getting experience is concerned, there are loads of girls (and guys) out there who want to give modelling a go. You can get a lot of useful experience doing "time for CD" work where you photograph the model in exchaneg for a CD(s) of the images produced during the shoot. It's helpful if you have a laptop so that you can burn the CD there and then.
