National Diploma

Hi, newbie here.

I've a keen intrest in photography but at the moment its just holiday snaps, but i'd like to expand my knowledge and if possible eventaully turn pro...anyway what i'd like to know is will I have to take a degree or will doing a national diploma and then possibly a HND be sufficient?

Although qualifications will allow you to climb the photography ladder they are not essential, you will find that some pros have basic or no qualifications and make an excellent living from their photography business just by being self taught and possibly attending further one day training courses.

This all depends upon if you are staring off working by yourself or are planning to work for someone where qualification would then obviously help fending off other candidates.
